Goodbye 2013

The year ends in approximately 2 days.

Which is why, let’s be optimistic about the New Year.

I’m not going to make some astound resolution that I might end up keeping for a week and then realizing just what a waste is actually was and something I could never stick to.

Let us toast to the year that will end in mere days and to the year that will begin.

Resurrection.

The year is born every 365 days later (366 on opportune moments). Everything is the same except maybe how the course of our life plays out and how we choose to live those days till a new beginning after every end. Which is why I have decided that instead of being pessimistic about my life and wondering why I am dealt certain cards, I will choose to play my part with what I have?

“Too often in life, something happens and we blame other people for us not being happy or satisfied or fulfilled. So the point is, we all have choices, and we make the choice to accept people or situations or to not accept situations.” – Tom Brady

Our choices make us who we are and I have come to better understand that statement. This year has been about resilience for me. I came out from certain situations a better person, I think. A lot of the things th

at I want from my life, I’ve decided that I will wait for now. Hopefully, it plays out in my favour. If it doesn’t…I’ll make the best of an uneasy situation.

This blog has been a blessing in disguise. So much of my pent up frustration was taken out on it and yet I found a safe haven here. Am I upset that the year is coming to a close?

Not.

 At.

All.

This year has been the hardest yet, for me. So, I’m glad it’s coming to a close. But I came out stronger. And if the next year turns out to be harder (even though I’m scared now by the thought of it) I have to believe that I’ll come out even stronger. I have to believe that it won’t be for nothing.

This is to us. For making it. In one piece, even if that means learning how to sow just to stitch ourself back together. We made it.

Here’s to a New Year.

To 2014.
